18 August 2008

and so it begins.

today was the first day of my senior year of high school.
it hasn't really sunk in yet that I only have 179 days of required-by-law school.
I'm not sure what to think about it.

the first day of the school year always starts with an hour of homeroom.
we get our planners and locker assignments (not that I use my locker).
the rest of the day is divided between our four classes for the term.
my first period class is Advanced Choir. it's going to be a busy year and I will struggle with the immaturity of most of the guys but I know it will be fun. Mrs. Butler will handle them.
second period, I'm service working for Mr. Rousseau my former Earth and Space Science teacher. he's also my homeroom teacher and one of my favorites.
third period is Honors English 12 with Mrs. Kaiser. senior English is British Lit. we'll be reading Beowulf, Macbeth, Pride and Prejudice, poetry, Frankenstein, and Othello. lunch is in the middle of the period but I have a feeling that I won't be eating much at school because...
...I leave after third period. this year I'm doing Collegiate Connection at IPFW. I'm doing University Singers. we meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I already know my director from Youth Chorale and I know a few other members of the choir so I think it will be a good experience. even if it isn't, I get to leave school at 1:00 every day.

Tuesday evenings I have Fort Wayne Youth Chorale rehearsals. in early November we're hosting several choirs from across Indiana. Snider Advanced Choir and University Singers are two of the participating choirs. it will be a rather busy day for me.

Wednesdays I have Break Out Groups at church.

Thursdays I'll have Set Nights for the play.

Sundays I have church in the morning and I'm going to be helping with a Junior High Break Out Group during Sunday School hour. I'm looking forward to that.

I hope I don't forget about this.
